Why there are 12 dates in this 2027 download

The 2027 OPM schedule has 11 rows. Its 2028 schedule adds Friday, December 31, 2027 as the observed New Year’s Day 2028. This calendar includes that date because it falls within 2027; its nominal date remains January 1, 2028.

Observed dates versus nominal dates

The nominal dates for Juneteenth, Independence Day and Christmas remain June 19, July 4 and December 25. The table and download use OPM’s observed weekdays for most Monday–Friday federal employees. Other work schedules can follow different rules explained by OPM.

What this calendar can establish

Use it to see the published federal employee schedule. Check your own employer or service for its operating calendar. In particular, a federal holiday alone does not establish a bank transfer deadline or a market closure.

The source calls the February holiday Washington’s Birthday. The asterisk attached to that source row is a naming footnote, so this tool does not treat it as a shifted fixed-date holiday.
